Notice of April 8, 2025 Fire District Special Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY-GIVEN that a Special Election of the qualified voters of the Pound Ridge Fire District (hereinafter called the "Fire District"), in the Town of Pound Ridge, Westchester County, New York, will be held at the firehouse located at 80 Westchester Avenue, in the Town of Pound Ridge, New York, in said Fire District, on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The polls shall open at 3:00 o'clock P.M. (Prevailing Time) and shall remain open until 9:00 o'clock PM (Prevailing Time) or as much longer as may be necessary to enable the voters then present to cast their votes.

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to the resolution adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fire District on March 11, 2025, the following Proposition will be submitted to the qualified voters of the Fire District for approval or disapproval:

SHALL the bond resolution of Pound Ridge Fire District, in the Town of Pound Ridge, Westchester County, New York, entitled: "BOND RESOLUTION OF THE POUND RIDGE FIRE DISTRICT ("FIRE DISTRICT''), IN THE TOWN OF POUND RIDGE ("TOWN"), WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NEW YORK, ADOPTED MARCH 11, 2025, AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION OF A TWO­-BAY ADDITION AND OFFICE EXTENSION AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE EXISTING FIREHOUSE LOCATED AT 80 WESTCHESTER AVENUE, POUND RIDGE, NEW YORK, SUBSTANTIALLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE PLAN PREPARED FOR THE FIRE DISTRICT WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF KAEYER, GARMENT, AND DAVIDSON ARCHITECTS, PC, INCLUDING ORIGINAL FURNISHINGS, EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY, APPARATUS AND ANCILLARY OR RELATED SITE, DEMOLITION AND OTHER WORK REQUIRED IN CONNECTION THEREWITH (HEREINAFTER SOMETIMES CALLED "PROJECT"); STATING THE ESTIMATED MAXIMUM COST THEREOF IS $11,200,000, INCLUDING PRELIMINARY COSTS AND COSTS INCIDENTAL THERETO AND TO THE FINANCING THEREOF; APPROPRIATING $3,500,000 IN ADDITION TO THE $7,700,000 HERETOFORE APPROPRIATED FOR SUCH PURPOSE; AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF NOT TO EXCEED $3,500,000, IN ADDITION TO THE $6,500,000 BONDS HERETOFORE AUTHORIZED FOR THE PROJECT, TO FINANCE SAID ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION; AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF SAID BONDS AND THE INTEREST THEREON AS THE SAME BECOME DUE AND PAY ABLE," BE APPROVED?”

All residents of the Fire District who were duly registered to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections on or before Monday, March 17, 2025, shall be eligible to vote at said Special Election.
