Marriage Licenses

A marriage license issued in the Town of Pound Ridge is valid throughout New York State.  The license is good for 60 days, but there is a 24-hour waiting period after obtaining the license before the ceremony can be performed. 

Both parties applying for the license must appear, and each must present an original birth certificate or a certified copy and some form of government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport).  If you have questions about required documents, please contact the Town Clerk's office.

If you'd like to obtain a marriage license in Pound Ridge, please consider making an appointment to ensure that someone will be available to help you.  

If possible, please print and complete the marriage license worksheet before you come to the Town House.  Be sure to bring cash or a check made out to "Town of Pound Ridge" for the $40 fee.

The town has several marriage officers, and civil marriage ceremonies can be performed on site.
