About Us

Conservation

Our mission is to promote the wise, long term, and sustainable use of our natural resources.

Our vision is to provide strong leadership regarding all matters that affect the environmental health and condition of the Town's natural resources: its water supply, variety and quality of wildlife habitats, semi-rural character, scenic beauty and aesthetic appeal. We strive to provide information and guidance to residents, town officials, and others regarding the environment.

The Conservation Board was created to advise in the management and protection of natural resources of Pound Ridge.

We strive to educate our residents to participate in our programs:

  • Community Compost
  • Bi-Annual Repair Cafe
  • Pollinator Pathway and The Invasives Project
  • Arbor Day Tree and Compost Giveaway
  • Big Spring Clean
  • Amphibian Migration
  • Healthy Yards
  • Informative Talks

In addition, we provide residents with information about climate change, water and septic,  wetlands guidance,  living among flora and fauna, recycling information, and much more.

The Pound Ridge Conservation Board:
* Advises the town in projects and matters affecting the environment.

* Educates residents about the environment.
* Consists of a 9 member board, each member appointed to a 2-year term.
* Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:15pm at the Town House.

To get involved in protecting the environmental health and natural resources of Pound Ridge come to a meeting.
