Residents Encouraged to Turn off Their Engines

The Pound Ridge Conservation Board and Energy Action Committee encourage car drivers to turn off the vehicle’s engine when stationary for more than 10 seconds. Idling cars in Pound Ridge release harmful pollution and waste valuable fuel. It’s also against the law – Westchester County passed a no-idling law in 2009.
