Scarecrow Contest

Pick up your bales of hay and dowels at the Town Park, Friday 10/13 2:00-4:00 PM or Saturday 10/14 from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM.

Bring your scarecrows to the Green from 1:00-2:00 PM on 10/22.

Scarecrows will be placed on the 36 light posts in town through Halloween.

QR codes will be placed on each scarecrow for residents to send in their votes from 10/22-10/31

Categories: Traditional, Whimsical, Humorous, Animal.

Scarecrow Contest Rules

Scarecrow Contest Category Descriptions

*Individuals: Open to entries created by one or more individuals (for example, a family or couple). * Clubs, Not-for-profits, and Schools.

*Business: Open to for-profit businesses. Display may reflect & promote business, may be traditionally or whimsically themed, and constructed of any materials.

Contest Rules

Entries will be reviewed for appropriateness following set-up and SHOULD a display be found to be offensive, controversial, political, etc., creators will be asked to either change its message or remove the display.

The Recreation Department reserves the right to remove any such displays not in keeping with these rules.

Theme/Signage

*Scarecrows for display may reflect a special theme and/or promote a not-for-profit organization, event or business. *Scarecrows must be in good taste & constructed to withstand the weather.

*Signage may be displayed to identify or promote your business, event or organization. Please use weatherproof signs! Check-in and Set-up *All entries will be assigned must drop off their scarecrow Saturday October 21st from 1:00-2:00 PM at The Green

*The Recreation Department and Maintenance Department will be responsible for installation of your scarecrow on the lamp posts through the Business District.

*Each scarecrow will have a QR code attached to them for voting purposes from 10/22-10/31.

Tear Down

*Scarecrows will be removed and discarded after 10/31 by the Recreation Department and Maintenance Department How to Register Online entry is available through the Pound Ridge Partnership.
