General Policies & Pool Conduct/Safety
General Policies
1. Permit holders must show permit in order to gain entry to the pool complex.
2. Non-permit holders must pay the daily admission fee.
3. The Town is not responsible for loss or theft of personal property.
4. The Recreation Department reserves the right to clear the pool area during
threat of electrical storms or any other potentially hazardous situations.
5. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere in the pool complex.
6. Food and beverages are permitted in the concession area only.
7. No glass of any kind is permitted inside the pool complex.
8. Smoking is prohibited throughout the pool complex.
9. No dogs or other animals are allowed inside the pool complex - with the
exception of guide dogs.
10. All refuse and paper must be deposited in designated receptacles.
11. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Pool
Complex.
12. Any group who wishes to use the pool facilities for a special occasion must fill
out a request form and receive approval by the Recreation Department.
Pool Conduct / Safety
1. No running, pushing or other “horseplay” is allowed anywhere in the pool complex.
2. Visiting and personal conversation with pool staff while on duty is prohibited.
3. No flotation devices, masks, fins, snorkels, etc. (only USCG approved flotation vests allowed) are permitted in the pools. Toys may be used in the kiddie pool only.
4. Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving boards. No diving or jumping is allowed until the entry area below is safely cleared and the previous diver has reached the other side of the pool.
5. One bounce only on diving boards.
6. No diving from the sides of pools.
7. The kiddie pool is to be used by non-swimmers only and all children must be supervised by an adult.
8. All non toilet-trained children must wear plastic or rubber pants over their diapers when they enter the pool.
9. No climbing on the center of the kiddie pool.
10. Lounging is not permitted on the steps or ladders leading into the pools.
11. Towels and chairs cannot be left on the pool deck.
Swim Team Meets
Competition Pool will be closed to the public when Pound Ridge is hosting a meet.
Swimming Lessons
A section of the Recreation Pool will be closed to the public for the safety of the children during swim lessons.
Day Camp Free Swim Time
Day campers will be using all three pools (while the complex is also open to the public) Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM during the camp season, starting Monday, June 30th through Thursday, Aug 7th.
