Responses to Questions

1. Should the submission include the conceptual design?

No.  The submission should include a quote for the cost of preparing a conceptual design, but not the conceptual design itself.

2.    During the walk through it was stated that the existing septic field currently overflows at times. Are there any records for the existing septic tank and field size and location? Should the design of a replacement field/system and related cost estimating be included in the proposal? Or a cost estimate and system size could be provided on best practices/estimated load for this schematic design phase.

There are no records for the existing septic field.  It is not necessary to include a replacement field or system in the conceptual design.

3.    Will the Town be providing a more detailed program with square foot requirements for the proposed spaces and uses or should a programming phase be included to determine if the 2,000 square foot total area will be sufficient?

The Town will not be providing more detailed information about square foot requirements.  It is up to respondents to determine and/or recommend whether a programming phase should be included.

4.    To help reduce costs at this phase, would a systems/equipment sizing, and cost estimate be permitted using best practices for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing scope  (heat pumps, air handler, ERV, hot water, electrical)?

No.

5.    Should we include landscape design as a part of the proposal and cost estimate? Or similar to above, provide cost estimate for planting/site restoration based on best practices for this phase?

No.

6.    Does the town have an internet/AV/security consultant(s) that will be handling relocating (or new design) for dispatch, communications/radio system, servers, and security cameras, etc.?

Yes, others will manage that process.

7.    Does the Town have any requirements or interest in energy efficiency/green building practices? Or are you interested in any third-party certifications like LEED, Passive House, etc.?

No.
