THRIVE Invites Members & Applicants for Town Representative
Want to make a difference in supporting drug abuse prevention and mental health among youth and others in Bedford, Lewisboro, and Pound Ridge? We invite you to become a member of the tri-town alliance—THRIVE Bedford | Lewisboro | Pound Ridge—and to consider applying to be a Steering Committee appointee, which is an official representative of your town.
THRIVE's vision is to have representation from throughout the communities, including but not limited to participation, involvement, and input by parents, school board members, students, young adults, clergy, law enforcement, first responders, creatives; civic, nonprofit, and business leaders, and more.
Teens are encouraged to apply to be youth representatives or interns, which may fulfill a community service requirement.
Members participate in the following ways:
- Share your skills and talents! Especially needed are people with interest and/or expertise in recruiting, networking, fundraising, grants, sponsorships, events, programming, promotion, marketing, branding, communications, public and media relations, networking, education, research, writing, editing, audio / video production and editing, social media, graphic design (most types including web and publications), publishing, presentations, language translation and interpretation (especially English to Spanish), public health, recovery, mental health, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, social work, outreach, community relations, publishing, strategy, planning, and more.
- Attend monthly THRIVE alliance meetings, which typically an hour online on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m., and/or attend committee meetings.
- Provide input on the types of substance abuse prevention and mental health initiatives that you would like to see in Bedford, Lewisboro, and Pound Ridge
- Engage and partner with key stakeholders who work directly in mental health or the prevention of substance abuse.
- Support outreach for programs and events, ensuring that local individuals and families are aware of these initiatives and ways to get involved.
- Committees include: Communications, Programming, and Fund Raising.
