Amended Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Legislation regarding Cannabis Retail Business Activity
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Pound Ridge will hold a public hearing on December 9, 2023, commencing at 10:00 am, or as soon thereafter as time allows, at the Pound Ridge Elementary School, 7 Pound Ridge Road, Pound Ridge, NY 10576. This hearing is in lieu of the initial public hearing scheduled for November 14, 2023 at the Town House.
At the November 14, 2023 Town Board meeting, the Town Board will formally open the public hearing and immediately adjourn same to December 9 without receiving any comment from the public.
At the December 9 meeting, the Town Board will entertain any public comment concerning the moratorium precluding the establishment of any cannabis business in the town of Pound Ridge pending the discussion and enactment of the proposed cannabis legislation. The proposed local law regarding enactment of a moratorium can be reviewed on the town website.
The purpose of the December 9 meeting is to provide an opportunity for public comment on proposed legislation regarding cannabis retail business activity and the aforesaid moratorium. Please note that you must submit your name and address in advance in order to speak. That information should be sent via email to the Town Clerk at townclerk@townofpoundridge.com no later than 4:30 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
To accommodate as many residents as possible, each speaker will be limited to three minutes. When it is your turn to speak, you will be called by the name you submitted.
The time for the public hearing will be limited to two and a half hours. If that time is not sufficient to allow all participants to be heard, the hearing will be adjourned and reconvened at a later date. Please note that the deadline to register to speak will not be extended if the hearing must be adjourned.
